My Early Commodore 64

This page is about my early release Commodore 64. It is an NTSC machine, imported from Canada from someone on eBay. I bought it as it was a case variation that I didn't have in my collection:

As you can see, at some point in its life it's had some of its keys changed for those from a Commdore 16 (the grey keys). It could be that the keyboard is a C16 keyboard, but with some brown C64 keys replaced onto that. Are the C16 and C64 keyboards interchangeable?

One day, I'll get around to putting an original set of keys in it!

Notice how the left hand label plate says "C= Commodore" - this is brown and says "C= Commdore 64" on later versions. The right hand plate says "64" - on later versions it says "Power."

I'm told the machine isn't working. I haven't tried it as it's NTSC, and here in the UK we use PAL.

A nice low serial number!

Note that the FCC ID sticker appears to refer to a licence granted to the VIC 20!
